Double-decker train Moscow - Voronezh
On 14 August 2015, double-decker train No. 46/45 Moscow - Voronezh set a Russian record for a regular long-distance train with the largest number of seats travelling all the year round. Russian railways do not have another train which can handle 1,320 passengers.
The launch of the double-decker Moscow — Voronezh train became a new stage in the implementation of the Daily Express program on July 31, 2015. The train is made up of wagons with 1st- and 2nd-class seats; compartments in 1st-class wagons are equipped with double occupancy.
The route includes stops at Ryazan, and Michurinsk, and Gryazi Voronezhsky stations. The two-story Moscow — Voronezh train is the fastest train on this route: travel time is 6 hours 35 minutes. It is planned to further reduce time in transit.
